The article presents the experience of the institution of additional education (hereinafter Educational practice) in preparing students of natural science associations to participate in competitive events of various levels and formats. The activities of the educational institution are aimed at expanding the scope of school education, individual support for talented and gifted children, at creating a developing educational and educational environment that contributes to the comprehensive development of the child, his socialization, self-determination and self-realization.
Educational practice was carried out for 2 years (2018–2019 and 2019–2020 academic years), includes three main areas: implementation of individual educational routes (IOM) for gifted and highly motivated students; implementation of educational vocational guidance practice “School of a young laboratory assistant-chemist”; Implementation of the innovative project “Application of virtual technologies in laboratories of natural science orientation”.
This practice allows you to cover the age of children from 7 to 17 years old and is aimed at: increasing the level of interest and motivation of students to conduct research and experimental project activities; development of skills of participation in competitive events; personal development of the student and the formation of natural science competencies; improving the image of the professions of natural science, engineering and technical orientation, including through participation in the championships of the professional skills competition according to World Skills standards in the competence “Laboratory chemical analysis” among juniors.
