Аманда Горман (р. 1998) – американская поэтесса, лауреат первой Национальной премии молодым поэтам. С ее стихами недавно вышла интересная история: 23-летняя афроамериканка Горман прочла на инаугурации президента Джо Байдена свое стихотворение «Холм, на который мы восходим», где говорится, что демократию невозможно уничтожить навсегда. Стихотворение решили переводить в разных странах. При этом опытному и известному переводчику на каталонский язык и переводчице на голландский, которым была предложена эта работа, пришлось от нее отказаться: общественность сочла, что переводчики не соответствуют параметрам – они оба белые.
